The aim of this PhD thesis is to examine the commercial organization of the British Levant Company activities in the 18th century in Aleppo. In this context the commercial importance of Aleppo and commercial activities of British merchants and consuls in Aleppo and the Mediterranean ports Alexandretta and Cyprus, that opened Aleppo trade to the international markets, have been studied based on English and Ottoman archives. In this study, some new outcomes have been obtained about the British commercial organization and loan activities of British merchants in Aleppo and Mediterranean ports.
