Jerusalem's Maghribi Neighborhood and Communities in XVI. Century

After capturing Damascus in 1517 under direction of Mamluks, Ottoman State was annexed Palestine and Egypt where the administrative center of Mamluks. After that Jarusalem, which includes the first Qibla of Muslims, came under the Ottoman rule. Jarusalem is a city, which has history of ancient and many old institutions. One of these institutions is undoubtedly Jerusalem's Maghribi Neighborhood. The neighborhood was established in 1187 by Saladin's son then taken Jerusalem from to the Crusaders. Neighborhood was established as a foundation, terms in accordance with the act of foundation only Maghribi been able to settle. This neighborhood is known as the Maghribi Neighborhood, until 1967, has maintained its presence in Jerusalem. Occurring in the followed by Arab-Israeli war in 1967, demolished by the Israeli government, and it was transformed into a Jewish prayer hall. This study is a monographic research, examining of Maghribi Neighborhood's situation in the sixteenth century. Settlement of Maghribi Communities to the Jarusalem, the establishment of neighborhood, demographic changes of structure of the neighborhood in the century, community's economic and social structure, its institutions and the in what way they are managed has been studied. In addition to these Maghribi Communities consumption patterns were examined.
